SPANISH CULTURE GROUP

The Group leader for Spanish Culture is Birgitta Wirdemo Boekholt and she has sent in the following report. "On Wednesday 13th April 2011 the members of the U3A Marina Baixa Spanish Culture Group enjoyed Elaine Mitchell's talk about Pablo Picasso's 'Guernica'. Elaine showed us in detail the meaning of all the different figures that make up this complex painting and I had a feeling that I, for the first time, really understood the painting.

Elaine is a very good speaker and in an educated and interesting way she led us through the painting piece by piece. Hopefully she will share more of her knowledge with us in the future."

...Well that "future" has come around now. As a result of Birgitta returning to her homeland at the end of 2011, she has asked me, Elaine, to continue the Culture Group.
