On Saturday 4th December 2010 U3A Marina Baixa celebrated their Christmas event at the Don Cayo Golf Club at Altea La Vella.
The event was attended by 96 people who sat down to an excellent meal prepared by Valerio and his staff. Music and entertainment during the evening was provided by Matt King, a local DJ/Entertainer. A Christmas table quiz was organised during the evening for those people wishing to test their knowledge of Christmas and for those not wishing to dance! A raffle also took place and among the prizes were a fantastic Christmas cake made by Joan Flint who runs the Sugarcraft Group and two beautiful table decorations donated by Liz Guest, our Floral Art Group Leader.
This turned out to be the best ever attended event run by the U3A Marina Baixa which brought members and friends together for a great social evening.
Many members of the U3A generously supported the Emaus Orphanage this year by donating Christmas presents to the children all beautifully wrapped up and personally labelled with a child’s name. These were collected at the U3A Christmas event and will be distributed to the children of Emaus on 6th January.
